Inspirational Artist Series

The last Monday of each month, I am starting a series of posts about inspirational photographers.  This month's post is about the iconic photographer Ansel Adams.

"A true photograph need not be explained, nor can it be contained in words." — Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams was an American photographer who took photos mostly of the West.

At the age of 19, Adams produced his first photograph.  Although he shot mainly in black and white, he also worked with color.  He used a large format camera and he developed the zone system, which I've personally used.  He was a huge advocate for wilderness preservation.

His black and white photography helped to establish photography as a fine art.

I've decided to turn the last Friday of each month into an artist edition.  I usually include only photography on Fridays, but this edition will include all forms of media.
